FAQs

What is your fuel policy?

Our policy is “same to same.” Please return the car with the same fuel level as at pickup. If not, refueling costs plus a €20 service fee will be charged. No refunds are given for extra fuel left in the tank.

What does CDW insurance cover?

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) limits your liability for damages to €700–2,000 depending on the vehicle category, plus a €72 administration fee. However, CDW does not cover tires, wheels, underbody, or interior damage. Negligence, alcohol/drug use, or failure to report accidents voids coverage.

Do you provide roadside assistance?

Yes, roadside assistance is included. If the issue is caused by negligence or misuse, the renter is responsible for repair costs and any related fees. In some cases, a replacement vehicle may not be provided.

What condition must the vehicle be returned in?

The car must be returned in the same condition as when it was picked up, except for normal wear and tear. Any interior damage or damage caused by negligence (e.g., leaving windows open during bad weather) is the renter’s responsibility.

Can I smoke inside the rental car?

No, smoking is strictly prohibited. If smoking occurs or the car requires extra cleaning (e.g., heavy dirt, animal hair), a cleaning fee of €50–150 will apply.

Can I reduce my liability further with extra insurance?

Yes. With Super CDW (SCDW), for €15–20/day, your liability is reduced to only the €72 admin fee. However, SCDW does not cover tires, wheels, underbody, interior, theft, or incidents caused by negligence, alcohol, or drugs.

What happens if I return the car late?

You have a 59-minute grace period. After that, a full day’s rental will be charged at the current daily rate, including extras. Repeated late returns may also be considered a breach of contract.

What should I do if I have an accident?

You must immediately notify Croco Rentals and, if another party is involved, the police as well. A police report must be submitted within 24 hours. Without a report, you will be fully liable for all damages and costs.

Am I responsible for traffic fines or lost keys/documents?

Yes. Renters must pay all traffic or parking fines, plus a €20 admin fee if handled by Croco Rentals. Lost documents cost €150 + €50/day (max €500), and lost keys cost €250 + €50/day (max €500).

Can I drive the car off-road?

No. Off-road driving is prohibited and not covered by insurance. This includes quads/ATVs, even though they are called “All-Terrain Vehicles.” Violating this rule may result in penalties and full liability for damages.
